Gareth Bale provided two assists as Real Madrid beat APOEL Nicosia 3-0 at the Bernabeu in midweek. Bale, who had a disappointing game against Levante over the weekend, set up two goals, and it was his cross that lead to Real being awarded a penalty- effectively meaning that the Welsh superstar had a hand in all three goals.
Bale started the game and played 82 minutes before being replaced by Borja Mayoral.
Real are now top of Group H after the first round of fixtures. Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the other group game.
